# The asymptotic boundary

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

A model may never become structurally identical to reality because it is itself only a part of what it models. If exact alignment is impossible, the alignment claim can appear empty.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** against DSRP because representation does not require literal identity with reality. Alignment is a trajectory tested through correction: structural analysis exposes omissions and contradictions and can improve the probability of a better model, even when perfect identity is unattainable. The boundary is also not a place the calculus stops. By the Coimplication of Existence axiom, ∃(i) ⟺ ∃(o) — an identity exists if and only if its other does — so representing totality as an identity brings “not-totality” into existence alongside it, and the structure restarts rather than terminating.
