# Holonomy holism and Aharonov-Bohm

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

In the Aharonov–Bohm effect, physically relevant structure is carried by loops rather than by local point properties. This can make the parts of the whole appear indeterminate.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** because parthood is specified within a perspective and decomposition. Loop-based and point-based descriptions use different grains and system boundaries. Multiple legitimate decompositions do not eliminate part–whole structure; they instantiate different perspectives on it.
