# Nirguna Brahman

Non-dual substrates ·

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

Nirguna Brahman is described as an ultimate reality without properties, parts, or distinctions. If it is both real and organized, it would appear to lie outside the DSRP inventory.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** because denying essence is not denying structure. Advaita itself separates nirguna Brahman from saguna Brahman and holds the second illusory — a distinction at the centre of its own teaching. Neti-neti performs a further distinction for each description refused. DSRP represents that structure without claiming the subject has intrinsic being, which is what the doctrine denies.
