# Pando after fragmentation

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

After a root connection in Pando is severed, a fragment may remain genetically part of the clone while becoming physiologically independent. This appears to make parthood contradictory.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** because the two claims use different decompositions. Genetically, the fragment remains part of the clone; physiologically, it may be a separate unit. The part–whole assignment changes with the question, boundary, and perspective.
