# Problem of the many, in mereology

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

A cloud admits many nearly equivalent boundaries, each enclosing a slightly different set of droplets. If no boundary is uniquely privileged, identity and parthood appear indeterminate.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** because vagueness still contains distinctions. A fixed perspective yields a working boundary; a fuzzy edge distinguishes doubtful cases from those clearly inside and outside. Boundary variability is an interaction of D, S, R, and P, not the absence of distinction.
