# Superposition of particle number

## Why it looked like it would break the theory

In a superposition of particle number, there is no determinate count before measurement. If a whole must contain a fixed number of parts, the system pattern appears to fail.

## Why it failed

**The counterexample failed** because DSRP requires parts, not a permanently fixed count. Measurement establishes a particular point, view, and basis from which a count becomes definite. Indeterminate number does not eliminate part–whole organization.
