## In authors' words

### What they set out to do (purpose)

Introduces DSRP theory to the Brazilian systems community in Portuguese, tracing its development from Cabrera's early work and setting out all four Patterns with adapted element tables.

### What they found (results)

Presents DSRP as a candidate "fourth wave" that could universalize systems thinking without displacing the field's pluralism, but closes on a reserved question – whether DSRP is a new approach, a method, or in fact the universalization of the field – noting that it imposes a formalism of its own.

## Commentary

### In short

Our reading: useful because it is neither adoption nor dismissal. Two researchers at Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica, with no Cabrera involvement, read the theory closely enough to reproduce its structure for a new-language audience and then decline to settle what it is. The reservation they raise – that DSRP imposes a formalism of its own – is a fair objection and one the containment papers answer directly, since their whole claim is that the formalism is elemental rather than one more competing vocabulary.

### In more detail

Both authors are at Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica. Bibliographic details confirmed against Crossref: authors, title, proceedings, publisher, page range and DOI all match. Note that the DOI resolves to the full Anais volume rather than to a separate file for this paper, so the paper's own text sits at pages 75-82 of that PDF.

### Response

Neither adoption nor dismissal, which is what makes it useful. Two researchers at Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica reproduced the structure closely enough to present it in Portuguese to a new audience, then declined to say what it is — a new approach, a method, or the universalization of the field. The reservation about imposing a formalism of its own is a fair one and is not answered by the theory's own literature.
