## In authors' words

### Who or what was studied (sample)

N = 392 / 342

### How they did it (methods)

Take a conceptual (financial) perspective versus an animate (fish) one.

Badges: reversed a prior claim

### What they found (results)

Conceptual perspectives taken 2.29× more readily than animate (OR 2.29, p < 0.001). 61.3% produced a correct conceptual response against 47.4% animate.

## Commentary

### Response

This reverses what the authors previously claimed and what two decades of anecdotal experience suggested — and was published with the reversal stated openly. Practical consequence: teaching perspective-taking by leading with 'take the frog's point of view' starts with the harder case.

Shows the structure is there
