## In authors' words

### Abstract

A narrative review of peer-reviewed research across disciplines, examining whether the four patterns and eight elements appear in findings by researchers who were not testing DSRP. Structured per pattern: existence in mind and nature, elemental structure, and the effect of metacognitive awareness.

### What they found (results)

Findings drawn from dative bonding, carbon monoxide binding to iron porphyrins, cosmological constraints from galaxy cluster structure, qubit probes, HIF/VHL degradation, chemotaxis, habituation in slime moulds, bacterial pack hunting, cells solving mazes, plant learning, cuttlefish delayed gratification, ravens tracking visual access, and honeybee landmark navigation.

### Response

Published in the Handbook of Systems Thinking (Cabrera, Cabrera & Midgley, eds., 2023), a volume built on the premise that systems thinking now has a universal theory—DSRP-484. Its contents were selected on that basis by its editorial team in concert with a team of advisors.
