## In authors' words

### What they found (results)

Across 35,038 students in 1,433 classrooms, whole-classroom network structure (314 metrics spanning friendship, rejection, help, and break-time ties) predicted classroom well-being (up to 18% of variance) and academic achievement beyond demographics and SES, with predictive power specific to network type.

## Commentary

### In short

The classroom as an aggregated whole carries predictive information absent from any individual student's data, and distinct relationship types prove non-interchangeable in what they explain.
