# Cultural capital and the social origin pay gap in the UK: Do you like the opera?

## What they found (results)

Using UK Understanding Society data, engagement in highbrow cultural activities (opera, ballet, classical music, museums, theatre) is found to reduce the social-origin pay gap, with the wage benefit concentrated among respondents from managerial/professional origins.
