## What they found (results)

Critical-taper analysis of Mercury's lobate scarps found fold-and-thrust-belt geometry consistent with weak, low-angle faults lubricated by a heterogeneously distributed graphite-bearing crustal layer, implying greater cumulative radial contraction than previously estimated.
