## In short

A gene's presence or absence across cultivars is a hard distinction (D), located within the structural-variant architecture of the whole pangenome (S), and its combination with a second gene produces a causal trait outcome neither gene achieves alone (R).

## What they found (results)

A 16-accession Tartary buckwheat pangenome catalogued 123,131 structural variants and found the wild UV-repair gene FtRNH absent from every cultivated variety; restoring it alongside a yield-associated gene (FtPLATZ) improved both stress resilience and yield in high-altitude field trials.

These researchers were not testing DSRP. The finding is theirs; the correspondence to DSRP is drawn by this site.
