The Universal & Atomic Elements of Organization
A falsifiable scientific theory proposing that the same irreducible structures organize both thought and reality — from the quantum to the social scale.
O-Theory proposes that four irreducible structures — Distinctions, Systems, Relationships and Perspectives (DSRP) — form the universal grammar of organization. Rather than being merely useful ways of thinking, these structures are hypothesized to be the atomic elements from which every organized phenomenon emerges, whether in cognition, biology, physics, mathematics, society, or the cosmos.

This is a living scientific evidence compendium: an open, continually evolving collection of independent empirical research, formal theory, mathematical proofs, cross-disciplinary analyses, applications, critiques, and proposed falsifications. Every entry is included because it supports, refines, challenges, or attempts to falsify the theory.
Scientific theories are strengthened not only by evidence that confirms their predictions, but also by surviving attempts to falsify them. This compendium brings both together: independent evidence from researchers who were not testing DSRP and proposed counterexamples evaluated against the formal theory.
One counterexample is enough to falsify O-Theory. Until then, the question remains: do the same four structures organize everything from quantum systems to human thought?
Independent convergence is one of the strongest forms of scientific evidence because researchers arrive at the same conclusion while investigating different questions for different reasons.
The number is not the point. Researchers in different fields, studying different questions with different methods, repeatedly arrived at the same structural predictions—almost always without testing DSRP or using its language.

The collection is updated continuously, so the citation carries the date you consulted it rather than a study count — the count changes weekly, and putting it in the reference would make the same collection look like a different work to everyone who cites it. To cite a single claim or study, use its own address: every one has a permanent link.
This is the adversarial half of the compendium. Where the evidence track asks what converges on DSRP, this one asks what would end it: a single organized phenomenon whose structure needs a fifth pattern, a ninth element, or a fifth structural dynamic. It holds written up from candidates across territories, and resolutions — the general answers those cases settle against. Every case is published whether it held or failed, including the ones still open.
Cite this rather than the evidence collection when the point is what survived attack. The two are separate works with separate addresses: one asks what converges on the theory, the other asks what would end it, and a reference to the first does not support a claim about the second. Case and resolution numbers change when the record is revised, so cite a case by its own permanent link rather than by number.

Convergence on DSRP-484 Across System Dynamics, Network Theory, and UML

This paper synthesizes three completed studies that applied the same preregistered structural-remainder test to three independently developed modeling traditions. System Dynamics returned sixty of sixty constructs without residual; Network Theory returned thirty-five of thirty-five; and UML returned a closed candidate set of one hundred forty-two metaclasses, with no exclusions and no residual among the two hundred seventy-one novel structural contributions those metaclasses make. Across 237 constructs, none required a fifth Pattern, ninth elemental role, fifth dynamic, or other irreducible organizational structure outside DSRP-484. The three run papers contain the construct-level evidence; this synthesis tests what can be inferred from their convergence. Two findings become visible only when the runs are read together. The first is forward-facing: three fields with no shared vocabulary—stocks and flows, nodes and edges, metaclasses and associations—resolve to the same four Patterns and eight elemental roles. The constructs that resisted decomposition most strongly did so for the same reason: each was a constraint placed on a Pattern rather than a new Pattern. The second finding is backward-facing and addresses the possibility that a flexible calculus can redescribe anything after the fact. When a formalism omits an elemental role from its native grammar, the missing organizational work reappears in auxiliary constructs, attributes, rules, or procedures. System Dynamics supplies one emblem: the cloud. Network Theory supplies six load-bearing cases. UML supplies roughly seven hundred countable representational expenditures, including eighty-three derived properties, eleven hand-built negations, four surrogate metaclasses for a Link the metamodel does not contain, and four hundred forty-nine constraint rules. These features were not necessarily designed to repair DSRP-defined omissions and may also serve computational, syntactic, or implementation purposes. The narrower claim is structural: they perform organizational work the native grammar does not perform directly. Together, the findings support more than retrospective containment: omissions in a formalism's native grammar predict the location and function of its later representational expenditures. The paper derives six prospective predictions and specifies their failure conditions through four connected tests—I/O, composition, ablation, and patch—applicable to any formalism.
Across 237 constructs no case required a fifth Pattern, a ninth elemental role, a fifth dynamic, or any other irreducible structure outside DSRP-484. Two findings emerge only from reading the runs together. Forward: three fields sharing no vocabulary resolve to the same four Patterns and eight roles, and the constructs that resisted decomposition hardest all did so for one reason, each being a constraint placed on a Pattern rather than a new Pattern. Backward: omitted roles predict where later representational expenditure appears. System Dynamics supplies one emblem, the cloud; Network Theory six load-bearing cases; UML roughly seven hundred countable expenditures, among them 83 derived properties, 11 hand-built negations, 4 surrogate metaclasses for a Link the metamodel does not contain, and 449 constraint rules. Cabrera states the narrow version of the patch claim himself: these features may also serve computational, syntactic, or implementation purposes, and the structural claim is only that they perform organizational work the native grammar does not perform directly. Six prospective predictions are derived with discrete failure conditions, which the paper insists are "discrete, inspectable failures, not broad predictions that can be rescued by interpretation."
This is the inference layer of the containment series, and its value is that it takes on the objection the individual runs cannot answer. A single decomposition invites the reply that a flexible framework can relabel anything once the answer is known. The patch evidence changes what is being claimed: not that the four Patterns can be found in a formalism, but that where a formalism lacks a role, its later machinery shows up in a predictable place doing predictable work. That is a claim about history the analyst did not write. Two caveats belong on the card. The counts are not commensurable units, since one cloud, six cases, and roughly seven hundred expenditures are not the same kind of thing counted three times, and the paper's own answer is that patch volume tracks how broadly a formalism was applied rather than how much it omits. And the sample is three, chosen rather than drawn, which the paper concedes.
